What is Rdb?

Answer

RDB (all uppercase) is sometimes used as an abreviation for Relation DataBase, a synomym for RDBMS -- Relational DataBase Management System.

Rdb (mixed case) is a specific product whose full name is Oracle Rdb. (Prior to December 1, 1994 the product name was DEC Rdb. Prior to Rdb V5.1, the product name was Rdb/VMS.)

Oracle Rdb is a robust, high performance relational database that includes an SQL implementation that is certified compliant with Entry Level SQL-92.
